My Superhero(es)…

DC Comics Super Heroes Stamps

Have you seen these new stamps? If you’re a fan of comic books, you will probably enjoy these DC Comic Super Heroes stamps. I first saw them at my local post office last week. I ended up purchasing a sheet of them for my nephew since he’s pretty in to superheroes, especially with all of the movies they’re making about them!

Oh, and the best part…They cost the same as the regular and plain stamps you would normally purchase ($7.80 for a sheet of 20). So why not spruce up your snail mail! Head out to the post office or go to the USPS website to purchase them.

Patterned Paper

I like paper. No, I really do. In fact, I just may love it!

Scrapbooking is much different than it used to be. There are a ton of new products that are constantly being introduced each month. One of the fun things about scrapbooking is looking at all of the fun patterned papers. You can really do so much with these papers…more than just using them on your scrapbook pages.

These papers are from the new Play Collection by American Crafts.

“The Birds and the Bees”

VW Rabbit

Music makes me happy. My iPod makes me happy.

Have you seen the new Volkswagen Rabbit commercial? The one where the Rabbits “multiply”? If you have seen this ad you probably found yourself bobbing your head and swaying along to the catchy song that takes you on a fun ride. It’s just one of those songs that no matter what kind of day you have had, or are having, will put you in a chipper mood.

Check it out on iTunes. I did and I downloaded it. The name of the song is “The Birds and the Bees” by Patrick and Eugene.

This song makes me happy.

Mmmmmmm…..Cupcakes!

Marshmallow Sheep Cupcakes  Nesting Baby Bluebirds Cupcakes
I like to bake more than I like to cook. One of the things I enjoy baking are cupcakes. Now you’d think that I would make them and eat a bunch, but I don’t. I actually like to make them, frost them, try one to be sure they’re alright, and give the rest away. I’m not much of a pastry or donut person but do occasionally have that cupcake craving.

What is it about cupcakes that I, and so many others, love so much? Could it be their simplicity? Could it be the fun frosting or endless decorating possibilities? Or maybe cupcakes are one of those “comfort foods” that take you back to your childhood. Whatever it is, I’ll always enjoy baking cupcakes and looking at cupcake recipe books.

Take a look through these fun books and see if it sparks your imagination, or sweet tooth, and get baking!

On Saturday I came home to this package. Cute, right? Well, then I opened it up and what was in there????

Lucille in the Yard

It’s Lucille!!!

See how she’s hanging out in the yard enjoying the shade?

She came to me all the way from Australia! I adopted her the other week and couldn’t wait for her to arrive.

Check her out on my laptop…

I love looking at beautiful things for the home. Everytime I get my Anthropologie catalog or visit their website, I enjoy seeing the variety of doorknobs and drawer pulls they carry. These are great ways to give your home new life and an added touch of elegance.

The patterns and designs used on these pictured knobs are made of ceramic and glass.

Enjoy!

Tour de France

Floyd Landis

Floyd LandisThe 2006 Tour de France has come to an end with another American taking the win.

Floyd Landis of the Phonak team wowed the cycling world with his performance and claimed the yellow jersey. He is only the 3rd American to win the Tour and has now made it the 8th year in a row that America could say they produced a leader in this sport.

Congratulations to Floyd Landis and to all of the riders who participated in this year’s Tour de France!
