Ice Cream!!! I’m not sure what the weather is like where you are, but in Hawaii it’s been humid. I mean, crazy humid! Yesterday I went to eat shave ice. Today I’m wishing that I could eat a gallon of ice cream. Alright, so that’s not what I SHOULD do, but I can wish and imagine, right?
Here are some fun ice cream related things that would be just perfect for my scoop(s). Mmmm, cookies-n-cream…

Cara is a woman who loves to shop. She took her love of shopping and combined it with her search for cool maternity and kid gear and opened her online shop. Finding things for her son to wear that reflected her personality and taste was a challenge that she was ready to take on. At Urban Baby Runway you’ll find everything from diaper bags and maternity wear to hip baby and toddler clothing. There’s fun gifts for the little guys and playful attire for little gals.
Urban Baby Runway is based in Baltimore City where Cara lives with her husband and son, Julian. She launched the site in June of 2006 and also has two fun blogs that she runs. Mama C-ta is the blog where Cara vents and shares “mom stuff”. Her other blog is linked to her website and has great reviews and the honest truth about different products.
Cara has done an awesome job of finding unique products and gathering them in one place. There is much to be seen at Urban Baby Runway and your kids will love being the coolest on the block.
Here are just a couple of my favorites from the shop:
He Pirate Onesie; Zebra Reversible Diaper Bag; Who’s Your Mama Maternity Shirt:

1936 Blue Sky King Trike; Crossing The T’s Onesie; Limelite Outdoor Tee Pee:

I like Halloween. I haven’t dressed up to celebrate in years (you know, other than wearing black and orange), but I do love the day! It’s fun to see all the kids and adults dress up, the decorations are great, and you get to buy candy!
So, in the spirit of counting down to Halloween (since we’re already in the month of October-how did that happen, by the way?), here are a few cute things I saw at the Pottery Barn Kids site…

By day, Laurie is a lawyer. By night she is a jewelry designer as well as the woman behind Blooming Lily, a independent style blog. Oh, and did I mention that she’s also a mother?
Her daughter, Elle, is the inspiration behind her jewelry company, Elle-a-Belle Designs, and also helped her mom out with the name. Laurie decided that she needed to express her artistic side and maintain her love of fashion while in the world of law and gray and blue suits…which is how Elle-a-Belle Designs was born.
Blooming Lily is the outlet where she features independent emerging designers. She showcases fashion, jewelry and beauty products, just to name a few. This blog was started because of her own business when she realized how much advertising needed to be done to get your name out there. She felt the need to support not only herself but other independent businesses as well. Laurie chose to name this blog after Lily, her other daughter.
Her blog is fun and she’s always finding something new to share with us. There are a bunch of things that I’ve never seen or heard of before…and isn’t that the best? I love reading blogs like Blooming Lily where you can discover something or someone new.
Head over to Blooming Lily to see what musings of Laurie’s are up today…Oh, and you should know that your wallet may be sparse after reading her blog!

Tiffany and I have a few things in common…We exercise together, we went to the same high school, we have a love for John Mayer (seriously!) and a special place in our hearts for New York. We both like music, but Tiffany actually makes music! She writes and sings and is even co-producing her upcoming album.
What she describes as a mix of John Mayer (of course) and India Arie sounds, Tiffany’s music is catchy and will have you bobbing your head along and probably reciting lyrics immediately. Her voice is strong, yet soothing and I can’t wait for her album to be released. She’s also beautiful and very sweet. So let’s show her some support as she continues on her journey of recording with an Indie label (something we gals can relate to!).

Until then, and as her site is being put together, check her out on My Space for a taste of what’s to come.

You’ll find buttons, bottle openers, mirrors and even felt monsters. What kind of arcade is this? It’s Button Arcade, a cool little shop of primarily pre-designed buttons and other fun things. This is a wonderful place to go if you need fun and affordable promotional items for your band, business, party, or anything else you can come up with! Yes, you can design your own buttons and mirrors as well.
Button Arcade is run by Kyle and Michael. Kyle is the brains behind this operation and usually has most of the creative ideas on what will be born as far as designs of products. She has been making buttons locally for a while and has worked her magic on the paper punch for many indie businesses (including me!). Thanks to her ideas and the success of Button Arcade, Kyle has been allowed the time to stay at home with her three-year-old daughter. Michael is actually the brains behind the computer aspect of this company. In fact, his expertise has helped to win them a Plummy Award for the most creative design for a website! He is the one that can conjure up a great design for your business, band, etc. What an amazing team!
With all of the fun things to see at Button Arcade, there will absolutely be a button for you (I mean, look at all of those I “Heart” buttons!). On top of that, everything is priced so reasonably that you will find yourself filling up that shopping cart that much faster! So head on over to Button Arcade now…
Here are a couple of my favorite buttons…
Bike Button; Record Button; I Love Chocolate Button:
By the way, Kyle wanted to share with all of you that during the month of October every order over $5 will receive a free felt monster pin!!!

I’ve only been there once and it was work-related. While we were there my boss insisted on us going to this popcorn place. She swore it was the best popcorn and that folks would stand in line in the cold (and it was pretty cold when we were there a few years back in November) just to get some. I didn’t understand what the deal was with this popcorn. That was until I tried it…
We stood in line in the cold and it was totally worth the wait. Garrett Popcorn Shops has a variety of different popcorn flavors to choose from. We had the caramel and cheese combo. I’m not a big fan of caramel, but tried it just out of curiousity. It was worth standing in the cold to get that fresh, warm popcorn. Hey, my boss liked it so much that she had a tin of it Fed-Exed to Hawaii…from Chicago!
So, if you’re a popcorn fan and if you’re ever in Chicago (or feel like paying for it to be sent via Fed Ex), head on over to Garrett’s! Mmmmm…Now I’m craving Popcorn.
Here’s a couple of flavors so that I can share my popcorn craving with you…
CheeseCorn (mmmm…cheesy!); Caramel Crisp, CheeseCorn and Popcorn; Buttered Popcorn:

You may have noticed that my taste for someone born and raised in Hawaii is a little…well, different. I’ve done posts about boots, even rainboots (wishing it would pour), that probably have no purpose being in our tropical climate. Yet here I am about to confess my love for…….SWEATERS!
I know, I know…How strange am I, right? I’m in beautiful sunny weather and I like sweaters? Maybe it’s one of those “you always want what you don’t have” kind of things. I’ve always thought that I was meant to be on the mainland or in a place that is cooler so that I can wear sweaters all the time. I love that cold and wintery feeling when you can bundle up just enough without freezing or being overloaded with layers of clothing.
It’s fall now, but winter is just around the corner and you may want to keep warm. So here are a couple of sweaters from Anthropologie that you may be able to wear in your current place of residence…

I look forward to Tuesdays because they’re fun…Well, mostly due to the fact that it’s the day when new music is released. You know me, I head for iTunes and see what’s new and what will be my next download.
Here are 3 new albums that I was waiting for that were just released today:
The Killers – Sam’s Town

Jet – Shine On

And this is just a little taste of +44‘s album that’s set to release on November 14. Their single is “When Your Heart Stops Beating”.

I checked out the video they just premiered on MTV as well. You can view it over on MTV Overdrive.
