Where are you located?
Illinois, USA

What is it that you design and create?
I design jewelry, stationery and accessories such as buttons, cellphone charms, hair clips. In addition, I provide graphic and web design services, which includes but not limited to: logo, business cards, postcards design and banner, avatar, static or animated ad, web template.

What is your favorite part of the design process?
I enjoy every single steps and seeing the finish product is the best part.

How did you come up with your business name?
MAU is my initial and last name put together. Another reason is, in Chinese, cat is pronounced “MAU”, and I love cats, so I decided MAUstudio is to be the name of my business.

Where/How did this all begin?
Many people ask me where I got my jewelry, so I decided to open my own business to sell them.

Who or what inspires you?
Everything that I see and everyone that I meet is an inspiration because we are all different and unique with our own characteristics.

What advice would you give other independent artists who are just starting out? Don’t get discouraged if things don’t work in the beginning, continue to look for ways to achieve your goals.

What was the last movie you watched?
Pirates of the Caribbean III

What’s your favorite food?
Italian, Japanese Ramen, Chinese

What’s your favorite candy?
Chocolate

Coffee or Tea?
Coffee in the morning, Tea in the afternoon.

What store could you walk around in for hours and be happy?
Craft and paper store are places I can stay for hours and be happy.
Any pets?
Puppy – a little pug. ^_^

Favorite place to visit or place you’d like to visit?
I would like to visit Japan and Europe.

Favorite Holiday?
Christmas, Chinese New Year

Do you speak any other languages? If not, would you like to learn one?
English is my second language, my first language is Cantonese and I also speak Mandarin.
