What is it that you design and create?
Unique handcrafted earrings & necklaces using shells, wood, bone & gemstones
What is your favorite part of the design process?
Picking out the materials [beads, pendants, etc.] & finding the perfect fit for each other.
How did you come up with your business name?
One of my biggest supporters, my sister came up with the name. I liked it because it is cute & simple.
Where/How did this all begin?
I have always made jewelry growing up, so it was more or less of a hobby. My mom used to take us to a bead store called the ‘Artisian’s Accomplice’, & I remember making my own earrings & necklaces. When I moved to California, shortly afterr I decided to make jewelry as gifts. The response became overwhelming. From then on, I began making more jewelry & customizing for friends & family.
Who or what inspires you?
I am inspired by everything surrounding me – nature, art people.
What advice would you give other independent artists who are just starting out?
Always market yourself, whether it’s carrying a business card, or wearing one of your creations.
What is your favorite indie purchase or trade?
A skirt from my friend Sue. It’s fun & summery. It’s white & has blue daisies on it. It’s the most comfortable skirt that I own, I could wear it everyday it the summer! www.ellaina.com

Hmmm…I really like a lot of different kinds of food – Thai, Japanese, Indian, Mexican, Italian to name a few!

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups

What store could you walk around in for hours and be happy?
Any bead store, of course.
Any pets?
Nope, but someday I would like a dog.
Favorite place to visit or place you’d like to visit?
Philadelphia, PA where I am originally from & head back to Thailand.
If you could be a superhero, what would your name be and what would be your superpowers?
Wonderwoman. Fly and have the strength to overcome anything.

If you were a shoe, what shoe would you be?
A boot
Favorite piece of clothing?
My ‘weekend’ jeans from Banana Republic. They are so comfy, I literally wear them all weekend long with my flip flops.

No. Yes, I would like to learn Spanish.
It’s already August! Any exciting plans for the rest of the year?
Keep on pursuing Becca’s Beads, celebrating my mother’s 60th Birthday and travel to a place I’ve never been – Costa Rica.
