Where are you located?
Alyse: New Jersey, USA and Belgrade, Serbia
What is it that you design and create?
Alyse: Original artisan dresses
What is your favorite part of the design process?
Alyse: It’s all good
Sanja: Direct work with materials
How did you come up with your business name?
It was Alyse’s nickname, Sanja wanted to keep it.
Where/How did this all begin?
Alyse: I made dresses for personal use, then did decorative textiles, then a dress label by the same name, which was around a little bit in New York a long time ago, then I met Sanja in Belgrade, I worked with her in an extremely natural and fruitful way from the very beginning, it had and has a fated quality, I am very pleased with our product.
Sanja: From my early years I mainly played alone with my stepmother’s beautiful dresses and scarves, I lived with my father and my stepmother, she sewed at home – they were master artists, a Capricorn and a Pisces. At that time in Paris where I grew up, I loved all fairytales (about princes and princesses). When I was 15 years old I sewed a dress for myself by hand because I did not have a sewing machine, I knew how to sew instinctively. Working with a partner began with Alyse, I had never had a partner, it happened at the right time for me, because I had already had enough working and technical experience, and I wished for a liberated and unrestricted work, I graduated in fashion design in Paris, I work in the theatre and I have worked on numerous films (like in my fairytales), when I began work with Alyse I immediately understood what must be done and that encouraged me, for the first time I was not afraid, simply occupied with a natural feeling of satisfaction, and I do not worry even a little about the future because there is no need, simply I know that it is good and that it will be good.
Who or what inspires you?
Alyse: I am so accustomed to this that by this point it’s more or less automatic.
Sanja: Because I am an Earth sign all things from nature inspire me, I see inspiration everywhere, in buildings, in the country, in sunny days and in rainy days, with every step, in the dear people I love – in Love.
What is your favorite indie purchase or trade?
Alyse: Aelisheva. We really do offer very well-made pieces for an extremely reasonable price; our pieces are a nice balance of unusual and wearable; and the style is signature and I think highly distinctive – but our catalogue on the website explains all of that with pictures in a way that can’t be done here with words.

Alyse: Decor Outlets, but not for hours

Alyse: Nope

Sanja: The sea
Favorite holiday?
Alyse: Paid Holidays
If you were a shoe, what shoe would you be?
Sanja: Sandals with laces strung with rhinestones and gemstones.
What do you secretly wish you could do/be?
Alyse: Sanja’s answer is good.
Sanja: Help children.
Favorite piece of clothing?
Alyse: Aelisheva dresses
Sanja: Underwear and pajamas
Do you speak any other languages? If not, would you like to learn one?
Alyse: Not in a pretty way
Sanja: Serbian, French, English

Alyse: No
