Goodbye, Circus Animals…
There is something very magical about certain things from childhood. Not all things, of course, but certain things like food seem to bring back a special memory or special moment from way back when. While I haven’t actually eaten this particular item in years, I have fond times to look back upon that include them.
When I received an email from Joshua Merritt regarding a certain cookie company that has been forced to close its doors, I was saddened. Mother’s Cookies has filed for bankruptcy protection on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Yes, these are the folks that brought us the Original Circus Animal Cookies. Those sweet little pink and white sprinkled animals. No more.
In celebration and honor of Mother’s Cookies, Joshua Merritt, his wife Kelly, and longtime friend and collaborator Scott David McCarver created a lovely tribute of a shirt. Their company, ClothMoth, designs and prints shirts in Cypress, Texas. They are all crossing their 60 collective fingers and toes in hopes the cookies will return.
