Another Reason I <3 SF…
Tonight (or because of the late hour, shall I say last night?) I decided to attend a show last minute. Just a spontaneous thing. Just got home. I’m so very glad that I went.
Greg Laswell is the reason I am happy in love with San Francisco tonight. I had never been to Cafe Du Nord before but had passed by a few times. It’s a small venue that has a bar, pool table and some limited seating (which you can reserve ahead of time for dinner). It was amazing how intimate the show was and it felt like you’re just hanging out with the performers.
Jenny Owen Youngs opened up the show and did a nice job of bringing the crowd together. If you’re not already familiar with Greg Laswell‘s music, then get to it. His voice is beautiful, lyrics are moving and, well, the guy is just talented. After seeing him live, his music will be on even heavier rotation via my iPod.
ps – apologizing again for the not-so-nice pictures. took it with my phone and had to make adjustments to them because of the lighting. also…thanks to the gal who heard me playing greg laswell music on my iPod at my place of work. she mentioned the concert and that’s how i found out. i love you for that!
