This is probably said way too much, but the year really is speeding by. Over the last several months I have been seeing a lot of calendars and planners popping up for 2010 and I will admit to ignoring them. Not because I haven’t been attracted to any of them. I guess you could say I’m in denial. Some days I just wish that the clock would move faster. Other days I sit and wonder how I could magically stop the weeks from passing as swiftly as they do. I realize now that I can no longer ignore the fact that I have been noticing lots of great calendars and planners. I’ve decided that I will attempt to slowly introduce them to you so that we I don’t get overwhelmed about the idea of a new year coming. Here’s the first {love the design}…

When I opened up the email from Xenia saying that she had a paper shop I was excited. I mean, it’s paper. I love paper. Then when I opened up the photos attached to that email, it was over. I knew I was in trouble because how was I supposed to choose what items were my favorite. Found paper co. is inspired by Xenia’s love and fondness for paper and appreciation for vintage. Her large collection is something we can all benefit from because not only can you find things for your crafty projects and your own paper stash, but also mixed paper journals. There are also some other great vintage finds for your home in the shop. Here are some of my picks…

Very exciting news! Amy of Pikaland will be hosting an Etsy Virtual Lab tonight at 9pm EST. The topic will be “Thinking Out of the Box” where she will cover things like how to gain more exposure for your business in a creative manner, and how to go beyond simply setting up your shop to build a solid reputation for yourself. I’m pretty bummed because I’ll be at my day job during that time so I can’t join in. But, you can!

Christy has one of those shops that I love so very much. So much that I can’t put a post together because I find myself wanting to share all of it with you. Selecting just a few items to feature is pretty tough sometimes, you know. Please forgive me because here’s my best effort at narrowing down the picks from Farouche…

Kimberly Scola of chez-sucre-chez is a sweetie. Not only do I adore her embroidered artwork {you’ve seen it on Mixed Plate a few times}, but I love how she supports her mama. Kimberly was invited to participate in a little project called Spoonful. She was dreaming up ideas of what to contribute and brilliantly came up with stitching 99 Red Balloons. Of course, the task would take a lot of time and planning. Realistically she decided that 9 would do the trick. Once finished with the project she wondered what she would do with those pieces. Kimberly had her “A-HA” moment! Her mom is taking part in a two day bike ride to raise money and awareness for the effort to find a cure for MS. What better way to help her mom raise the money, have you donate to a good cause and get a lovely bit of artwork in the process.

It’s Aloha Friday, everyone! What a week it’s been. There have been crazy weather reports claiming there would be a “heatwave” and instead all was fine and foggy in San Francisco. How was your week? Hope it went well and that you’ll have a great weekend. Have a Happy, Happy Aloha Friday!

I just restumbled upon Yvette Inufio’s shop this morning. Her photography is just so dreamy and quite romantic and inspires me to want to take a relaxing mini-vacation somewhere. A place where there’s sun shining and a cool breeze. It would be quiet. Perhaps a beach house. I feel as though I could kick my feet up and get lost in a good book. Or catch up on sleep. Either way, I’d be relaxed…
