There’s something about Lisa’s beaded jewelry that I really love. The colors, maybe? Or perhaps it’s the way they appear to be simple, yet you just know that she’s put in so much work to create each piece that’s attractive to me. TQB Designs focuses on beaded circles, dots, rounds and spheres. It’s just one of those accessories that will provide that pop of color that any outfit would appreciate.

Hot off the heels of my viewing of Zombieland last week, you can bet my zombie fever is heightened. So of course I was excited to see that Nancy and Andy of Circa Ceramics teamed up with artist Matt Cipov to create some spooky cups. I was all over it. Well, sort of. I didn’t move fast enough in the beginning to scoop up one of these intro series designs and there were only two other chances I had. I didn’t give up hope. Since I first wrote this the other night I had to change things around because I ended up scoring one of the cups. I stalked the shop until I saw one pop up and, boom, she was mine {I got the green girl in the last photo}. Nancy and Andy have assured me that they’ll be creating more wares {maybe some small bowls or cylinders} with Matt’s zombie artwork on them soon. You can bet I’ll be checking in on their shop daily {zombie hunting, if you will} so that I can snag another one {or more}. Here’s a peek of the intro series of 6 designs…

Hop on over to UPPERCASE if you’d like to submit your artwork. There’s a call for submissions for the magazine’s winter edition. The Confections show is all about the fine art of candy packaging. What’s your take on those tasty treat wrappers? Deadline for submissions is November 10, 2009. Check their site for the scoop.
Love these two designs by John Coulter. It’s his Wild Things take on a classic candy ad that’s on UPPERCASE’s journal.

There’s always something lovely about the home page of ModCloth. I really love the current “shop the outfit” looks with the beautifully simplistic way the shoots were styled and photographed.

I love this smart perpetual calendar {$28.00} by Orange Beautiful. It’s a stack of 13 two-sided cards that have been letterpress printed to perfection. The display box is free-standing and simple to assemble {simply peel and stick} and is also letterpressed. Calendar comes in red, yellow, blue, and tan.

Ready for the weekend? What are your plans? I took advantage of the rainy Tuesday {and by “took advantage” I mean that I was lazy} and put off things that needed to be accomplished, so I’ll be doing that on my one weekend day off.
