Have you ever watched The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo? I think it was at some point last year that I finally gave in and looked it up online because I would always hear about quotes {“I die!”, “Bananas!”} from the show and people talking about fashion stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe. I became intrigued and, of course, had to watch both seasons. The show basically follows Zoe and her style team {along with her hair and make-up people and her husband} and gives you an idea of what it might be like to have to find that perfect outfit for any occasion {award shows, fashion shoots, every day clothing, etc.}. I was reminded of the show the other day when I ran across some cute bow ties because one of her assistants, Brad, is adorable and it seemed to be his favorite accessory. What do you think of bow ties?

I am in love with these chairs in this beautiful photo. How about you?
I am not sure if they are an aqua blue or a light mint/seafoam green. Doesn’t matter. I still want them.

Every trip home to the islands reminds me of how lucky and proud I am to be a Hawaiian kid. I was born and raised on O‘ahu and each visit home makes me long for the next one. I ask myself if I’m ready to head back {it’s really only been a couple of years}. With this recent trip home I stocked up on local snacks {in addition to my feeding frenzy while there} and omiyage for friends. Along with that I brought two shirts that were made locally. I wished that I had remembered to find some of these fabulous shirts by Organik that I’ve had my eye on and will just have to place my order online.
Brian and Ed, the guys behind Organik, use sustainable, organic and recycled materials in their collection such as bamboo or natural rubber. The designs are all reminiscent of beach life and the pieces look super comfortable and wearable. Here are some items from their Summer 2010 line…

And you know I want these…

These are of a limited edition featuring their “swallowtail” design. They are fair trade made from natural rubber and are biodegradable.
Alright, who wants to go to the beach now?
ps – there’s also a sale going on at the shop.
This vintage greeting card set {$12.00/set of 10} at five6seven8 is making me smile…
Although the artist guy in the second photo and the friend one above are a bit creepy, right?
A while back I had seen this post over Leya’s blog, Curious Bird. It, along with other things, made me want to visit Philadelphia {and not just because one of my favorite shows is based there}. A Love Letter For You is a project by Stephen Powers with the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program. Stephen leads teams of painters to create murals on buildings along the elevated train route in West Philadelphia. His goal was to include 50 rooftop and street-level murals, each depicting a sort of love note. It has received sponsorship and support via Arts and Heritage groups in the city and I think you will agree that his artwork is lovely. You can even purchase his book documenting the project. Happy Tuesday…
Sweet, right?
