oh, monday morning. need a great way to start off your week? well, thanks to a little tweet that shauna and stephen posted last week, i am in love with portlandia. the new comedy series stars fred armisen and carrie brownstein and is completely filmed in portland, oregon {where they have based their characters on}. i’ve watched every clip available online and laughed so hard. for those of us in the handmade crafts and design community, this one may appeal to you…

it has now been a little over three years that i have lived here in san francisco and i honestly cannot tell you what spring means here. i mean, i know that while the rest of the world may get pumped for warm summers, that just isn’t the case here. i do know, however, that spring fashion gets me excited and emerson made‘s first release of their spring 2011 line makes my heart go pitter-patter.

andrea heimer.

i was thrilled to receive an email from andrea heimer regarding her 30×30 project {part II}. it’s a series of 30 animal portraits that she painted in 30 days. last year she focused on people and this year is all about the animals. the paintings are watercolor and pencil and would look so beautiful framed. born and raised in montana and currently residing bellingham, washington, andrea is a self-taught artist. here are a couple of my favorites…

remote control.

the other day i was talking with a customer at the day job and we were discussing television. i told him that i haven’t owned a t.v. in a few years now and that whenever i go home to visit, i can never figure out all of the remote controls and have to ask my dad for help. so i thought it was pretty great that i could at least recognize what these symbols meant…

so you know how i always talk about having cold hands and feet? well, even the heater in my apartment doesn’t stop me from wearing socks all the time. so i kinda really want a pair of these french slipper socks by collégien that are for both kids and adults {hooray!}…
