it’s the end of another week. i feel like i was just wishing you all a happy new year and then just like that we’re half way through january. last week i hurt my wrist and i’ve spent most of this week dealing with it {man, it’s rough finding a doctor here in san francisco!} and hoping it heals up soon. other than that, the days, while still cold, don’t have the same bite they did last week. let’s hope it doesn’t revert to the ultra-chilly state we had. oh, and i had a nice dinner with a great friend last night. hope your week went well and that you’ll have a lovely weekend. have a happy, happy aloha friday!
i thought that in light of all the cold and gloomy weather we had over the last week or two, it would be only fitting to do a post dedicated to a sunnier shade…
i have been a long-time fan of handmade bags. in fact, my mom just sent me one as a christmas gift that she picked up from a craft fair. and while i love bags, i don’t own any fancy designer leather-type ones. i adore small designers such as suzie and have been a long-time fan of her shop, bees’netta. of course, i was thrilled when i saw the newest addition to her collection, the scout bag, and have been meaning to share it with you…
i know i’ve said this before about her bags, but i really like the fact that there are lots of pockets and closures for all sorts of stuff. plus you can choose to wear the bag over your shoulder or messenger style. so versatile.
if you haven’t already checked in on the new n.e.e.t. book, you really should. the five year anniversary of n.e.e.t. magazine was celebrated in print and is filled with many of your favorite bloggers, crafters, designers, and more. oh, and last month i shared a little secret with you {guess who was one of the five writers for the book?}…
pssst…that’s me at the bottom of the page in the photo above
you can select the cover of your choice {there are five options and you can do the hard cover or soft cover} and there’s free shipping during the month of january. so, get on it, will you!?
oh, friday favorites, welcome back. i’ve missed you so very much. hope you guys have missed this feature as well. it has been a while and one of the goals is to be more consistent with it like before. so here goes the first one of 2011. have a happy, happy aloha friday!
what are you doing this evening? if you are here in san francisco, you should definitely head over to the curiosity shoppe. there’s a showcase and mini yellow owl workshop {love} pop-up shop in honor of christine schmidt’s new book, print workshop.
join in the celebration of the book launch from 6-9pm where you can pick up your very own signed copy, make your own printed book plates using rubber stamps, and have some beverages.
for the first color post of 2011 i thought i would go for purple. the last time i selected it was back in may of last year and i realize that i have been really drawn to the color all over again. enjoy…
in talking to and visiting with friends it seems as though 2010 was a rough year for a lot of us. as the year was coming to a close all i could think was, “2011, bring it on!”…
and i had other, well, choice words for 2010. i have a feeling that this year will bring wonderful things for you and for me as well. i am not hoping for it, i believe it. i will make it happen and this year will be great {i made stuff happen yesterday as i ran around the city checking things off of my to-do list! it felt so good}! and that means both personally and on the business front.
so, with that, may i ask a little favor of you? i have a quick survey to help get a better sense of where i should take mixed plate and how i could make things sweeter for those that i feature and sponsors as well. i would love your feedback and appreciate your time. it really means a lot to me. 2011, get ready for us!
ps – all of the info you provide me with for the survey is just to help. i will not share any personal information – it’s just between you and me, love!
i really do. and here are just two more reasons why…
i know that that video has been around for a few months, but i still love watching it. and then i saw this thanks to the coconut records twitter update…
aloha! i’m Liana. this is my site. i am not a professional writer. i pretty much just write the way i talk. it’s fun meeting new online friends and introducing these amazing artists. i’ll do my best to keep you entertained.
