i have not vanished, friends, and am back to work. thank goodness! my trip home was a mixed bag. i was so happy to spend time with loved ones {my nieces and nephew even sang “happy birthday” to me!} but from the moment i stepped off the plane, i was sick. the entire trip. in fact i am still not 100% after two weeks! this is for sure the worse i have ever felt. not fun. my routines are all messed up – no posting, not working at the day job, not punching or kicking anything {no, no, i’m talking about my workouts}. i’ve been doing a lot of resting and reflecting, reading and catching up on shows online. while i was in hawai’i, there were hardly any days of sun. it rained pretty much the whole time. so here is one of the only photos i captured while my sister and i walked around when we saw a little hint of sun {kind of like a postcard, right?}…
i can’t believe that it’s friday already {i know. i always say that}! i leave for hawai’i on sunday morning to be with my family. so, so ready for that! if i’m not around here very much, that’s why and it isn’t because i don’t love you. tonight i’m going to let my problems go and have fun with some of my favorite people. i hope you had a wonderful week and that the weekend will be full of joy. have a happy, happy aloha friday!
there, i said it. it’s the first year that i am really trying to embrace and celebrate the day. i am looking forward to this new year and am thinking positive thoughts. this next chapter in my life is off to a great start with friends that refuse to let me be anything other than happy about march 4. they’re taking me out tonight to party it up. and i can’t wait. my birthday wish for you is that i hope you have such wonderful people in your life. i love them and all of you and am so blessed.
ps – that’s the card i got in the mail from my friend and his lady. open it up and the dogs sing {ok, bark} “happy birthday”. love it!
a girlfriend of mine was kind of poking fun of me one day because while she leaves the gym in beautiful kate spade heels, i always slip on flats for work. she asked if i owned any heels and was pretty disappointed that i didn’t {that’s changed, by the way}. i am on my feet all day and need to have shoes that are comfy. these seem to fit the bill, don’t you think?
i have already been a long-time fan of irene suchocki‘s photography and was thrilled to see her work as jewelry. these lockets are a collaboration with heartworks by lori to create nostalgic pieces of wearable art.
