Advertising on Mixed Plate

If you are an independent business owner with a website or shop, or a supporter of the handmade design community and would like to spread the word about your goods, you’ve come to the right place!

Mixed Plate is a couple years old and has quickly grown in readership. I am very excited to be able to offer affordable advertising to crafters. I understand as a small business owner how money can be tight, and downright scarce, at times. When you’re looking to get the word out on your products it can sometimes be quite discouraging when seeing the pricing of placing an ad.
At Mixed Plate I cannot guarantee you sales or even an exact number of new visitors to your site. I can, however, guarantee that I will do my best and work hard at getting the word out about Mixed Plate and keep up with new features daily.

Mixed Plate already has a loyal following. Hawaii-based companies along with those around the world contact me to help share their work with others. Readers visit Mixed Plate daily to find out what’s new, learn about their favorite designers and artists and keep up with the indie movement.

Two ad sizes are available {150×100px and 150×200px}. I want to be sure that every ad is seen and every site is visited. There will now be two ads that remain at the “Top Spot” and the other ads will randomly rotate.

All ads can be either animated or static.

Current pricing is as follows:

150×100: $40/month

150×200: $50.00/month

Top Spot 150×200: $65.00/month

With the purchase of your ad a link to your site will automatically be added to the Indie Shops and Sites page. Along with that I will do a feature (or mini interview) on you as a sponsor on Mixed Plate. If you are currently running any sales, specials or would like to offer a coupon code to Mixed Plate readers, let me know and I will add that to your feature. Your feature will run during the time that your ad is up. Any sales, specials or coupon codes will also be included on the Sales, Specials and Coupons page. If you run an ad for more than one month I’ll also do a little sponsor feature during each of the other months you are on Mixed Plate. Mixed Plate’s 2009 Holiday Gift Guide

It feels like I was just working on last year’s Holiday Gift Guide. But, it’s here, people. The 2009 holiday season. Let’s get together and show the world your amazing handmade goods. Advertise with me on Mixed Plate’s Holiday Gift Guide!

The Holiday Gift Guide will launch on Friday, October 30, 2009 and will be up until Friday, January 15, 2010. A special newsletter will be sent out regarding the gift guide and I’ll be advertising it in BUST Magazine, N.E.E.T. Magazine, and various places online. I’ll also, of course, be doing a number of posts and features on Mixed Plate to help promote all of your goods. In addition, there will be a lovely banner on the sidebar directing readers to the guide. You’ll also receive a banner to proudly place on your sites, pages, blogs, etc. to assist folks in checking out your goods.

I still believe in keeping things affordable, especially with this funky economy. You will be getting 2½  months in the guide. This will help get people interested in seeing what you have for their gift-giving as well as drive customers to your site to see any post holiday sales you may have to offer.

So here’s the scoop on this year’s options:

Categories available this year:
Hey, Ladies!: Basically anything her heart desires. What would that special gal {or yourself} want as a gift? Ex: bags, jewelry, accessories, clothing, bath and body products, etc.
Hey, Boys!: What do guys want? Ex: clothing, bags, hats, ties, belts, cool gadgets, etc.
Little Cuties: Anything for babies, kids, teens. Ex: clothing, art for kids, bags, toys, accessories, school supplies, etc.
Furry Friends: Can’t forget the pets. Ex: collars, leashes, treats, clothing, pet portraits, etc.
Eco-Friendly: Anything made using vintage and recycled goods and earth-friendly materials. Ex: vintage wares, upcycled clothing, items printed on recycled paper, use of soy inks, etc.
Under $20: All things $20 and under. Perfect things to give co-workers or as secret santa gifts, perhaps.
For Your Space: Anything for your home or office space. Ex: artwork, pillows, candles, furniture, wall décor, desk/office supplies, bulletin boards, etc.
I Heart Paper: All things paper. Ex: cards, posters, artwork, gift wrapping, tags, journals, book plates, notebooks, zines, paper supplies, etc.
Stocking Stuffers: Anything that can be stuffed into a stocking! Ex: bath and body products, lingerie, make-up, accessories, small pouches/bags, pencils/pens, notebooks, jewelry, etc.

*If you would like to participate, please send me an email at liana@mixedplateblog.com to reserve your space. Please let me know what category you’d like to be in. Everything is on a first come, first serve basis. So, please send me an email prior to your payment so that I can tell you if you have grabbed the listing of your choice. Once it’s confirmed, I’ll let you know where to send your payment {via PayPal}. Once your payment has been received you’ll be official!

Each person that subscribes to our newsletter will be entered to win a fabulous box of goodies…Yes, Goodies Galore! A contest will be held every other month to start. To participate you would donate a handmade item from your shop. The value of the item donated should be around $15 or more.
