i’d like to welcome sponsor tea collection to mixed plate. the company started in san francisco back in 2002 with pima cotton baby sweaters and now makes clothing lines for newborns, up to size 12 for girls and boys, as well for women. their current collection draws inspiration from the vibrant markets of mexico. it’s all so adorable…

traidremade.

traidremade is a company based in the uk that is run by fashion recycling charity, traid {textile recycling for aid and international development}. when you purchase from traidremade, you are helping to support traid’s work to raise funds to fight global poverty through its clothes recycling and environmental activities in the uk. everything at the shop is a one-of-a-kind piece made by hand in brighton using textiles that would have ended up thrown out. here are some of my favorites…

sunhee moon.

have you ever visited sunhee moon here in san francisco? it is a little ridiculous that i haven’t featured the small boutique before. you know how i often mention not being the biggest clothing shopper? well, this shop is one that when i am in the mood or in need of something new i head to. what i adore about shopping at the two boutiques is that they have superior customer service. the girls are always friendly and genuinely helpful. they take their time to ensure you find what is right for you.

the san francisco company supports other local businesses by using primarily american-made fabrics and producing their clothes in small quantities not far from their headquarters in the mission district. sunhee graduated from university of california at berkeley and continued her studies by heading to italy to learn more about art history. she traveled throughout india and asia before starting her line.

sunhee moon‘s aesthetic is clean and classic, yet modern. she pulls inspiration from the 1950′s era {hello, classics!}. the styles are really flattering on various body types and the color palette always makes me happy. each item from the shop can easily blend its way in to your current wardrobe {which is important when you’re a picky-i-don’t-like-to-shop-shopper like me}. the items are so well-made and i never fail to receive compliments on the items i have when i wear them. oh, and i even like the way the store is arranged – blocks of color grouped together. perfect like a rainbow!

made by noemi.

noemi ivanova is an independent lingerie and accessories designer living in stockholm, sweden. her label, made by noemi, was first established in 2003 when she found that she lacked underwear that was not only beautiful, but comfortable as well. her designs are classic, luxe and feminine yet have a very wearable and edgy look to them. if that statement is at all possible, noemi seems to have been the one to mix all of those qualities together.

what i find so interesting about visiting made by noemi’s website is reading about the inspiration behind the collections. the most recent one, “my darling magpie“, is dedicated to the bird that she had been fascinated with {and a recent viewing of alfred hitchcock’s “the birds” helped, too}. the collection began with the colors of the magpie. noemi then added stronger fuchsias, yellows, and greens for more of an eye-catching appeal.

all of these handmade items have my heart racing and believe me, i have clicked that little “buy” button located under pretty much each and every item in the shop. can anyone help me narrow it down {i dare you to select just one item}? i’m thinking that this is just the first post i’m devoting to her line and if you love it as much as i do, i’ll share more. i love all of the little details. um, and the stockings? oh. yes.

ps – how gorgeous are the photos? check out the accessories and the men’s collection.
