if you haven’t already checked in on the new n.e.e.t. book, you really should. the five year anniversary of n.e.e.t. magazine was celebrated in print and is filled with many of your favorite bloggers, crafters, designers, and more. oh, and last month i shared a little secret with you {guess who was one of the five writers for the book?}…
pssst…that’s me at the bottom of the page in the photo above
you can select the cover of your choice {there are five options and you can do the hard cover or soft cover} and there’s free shipping during the month of january. so, get on it, will you!?
what are you doing this evening? if you are here in san francisco, you should definitely head over to the curiosity shoppe. there’s a showcase and mini yellow owl workshop {love} pop-up shop in honor of christine schmidt’s new book, print workshop.
join in the celebration of the book launch from 6-9pm where you can pick up your very own signed copy, make your own printed book plates using rubber stamps, and have some beverages.
ez over at creature comforts may have outdone herself. i am constantly inspired by her creativity and beauty that she finds and shares with us daily. when i saw that she was taking on another project my jaw dropped…out of excitement, of course. because i just knew it was gonna be oh-so-good…
gifted is a special holiday magazine offering up cool downloads, holiday project ideas, interviews, a gift guide and more. some of my favorite people are featured, so check out the full issue here. so glad i finally had time to browse…
if you are in san francisco tonight, head on over to rare device. owners lisa congdon {who is also a participant} and rena tom are hosting a signing party and live drawing event for the launch of the exquisite book.
at the shop will be a long table set up where artists from the book will be participating in a live drawing session. it’s sort of like a collaborative game where they draw an image and then pass it to the next artist and so on. some of the artists from the book that will be in attendance include julia rothman {one of the co-authors}, caitlin keegan, lisa congdon, eunice moyle, tom neely, kelly lynn jones, susie ghahremani, and lorena siminovich. the finished artwork will be hung on rare device’s project wall. artists will also be available to sign books, so be sure to grab one.

the sweet samantha hahn sent me a little email that she’s hosting a giveaway on her blog for this fun book…
i know that so many of us are in love with the show mad men. we all have our favorite character{s}, right? i think i, like samantha, love peggy the best. she’s smart and spunky. then again there’s joan. she just rules. and don. oh, mr. draper. i’ve digressed. the point is that you could win mad men: the illustrated world book by dyna moe. some things you can learn from the book are how to dress and style your hair like a secretary, dance the charleston, and how to make mid-century cocktails. simply visit samantha’s blog. all you have to do is leave her a comment on who your favorite character is and why. easy! check it out…
we’re all cheering with delight because we’ve been blessed with a new drool-worthy e-mag that launched last week. rue magazine is now available online and its premiere issue doesn’t disappoint.
this interior design and style publication is brought to us by co-founders crystal gentilello and anne sage. it was great seeing some of my favorite girls featured in this issue including victoria‘s home, holly‘s faves in the “blogger side by side”, ban.do‘s party style, and even erin as a guest curator. here’s some eye candy for you…
guess what? there’s a brand new design magazine called anthology. and it’s a print mag. yes, i said print. hooray!
anthology is a quarterly shelter and lifestyle print magazine brought to us by two of my faves, anh-minh le and meg mateo ilasco. they envision the publication as a collection of stories shared with readers as it will take a narrative approach to its coverage of topics such as home decor, travel, design, entertaining, and culture. i cannot tell you how thrilled i am that the world will have design offerings in print again. after domino bid us farewell, i know many have longed for more tangible pieces of work as opposed to just what we get off the internet. if you believe in print and small business, do your best to support efforts like this one. get your subscription here {i signed up for mine!}.
lisa congdon is hands down one of my favorite artists. this year she started a project called “a collection a day, 2010” where she photographs or draws/paints one collection each day.
yes, she started january 1, 2010 and will continue on through december 31, 2010. the collections mostly consist of real items that exist in lisa’s home or studio {which she photographs}. some are simply imagined {those are the ones she chooses to draw or paint}. her love and obsession with collections is something i absolutely love seeing her document.
but the really exciting news is that her collections will be published into a book! lisa is working with uppercase {who creates beautiful art and design books and, hello, their magazine} to bring it to you and it will be released in march of 2011. pre-order your copy here.
I am happy to announce that Contrast Magazine‘s newest issue, Creative Stimuli {04}, is out for your enjoyment. Here’s a sneak peek of the journal containing articles featuring Mike Giant, Willy Branlund, Joe Pa’ahana, Matisyahu, Kool Herc, Lucky Olelo, Chris Lundy, Clones of the Queen, Painted Highways, The Deadbeats, 12th Planet, Shaun Castro and more…
