let me start by saying that you can never have enough pretty pens and office supplies. good. glad that’s out of the way. when i was in italy last year, i fell in love with campo marzio. the italian company started back in 1933 in rome creating beautifully crafted pens. today, they offer more than just writing instruments including desk accessories and personal accessories {like bags, wallets, portfolios, tech cases, etc.}. while i wanted everything {you should see the nice colors they offer, too – part of the draw}, i ended up getting a fountain pen and a roller pen…

of course i opted for polka dots instead of just plain colors {although those were great, too}! these were such a great find and i love the memories that pop up whenever i use them or even just see them on my desk.

i have had a thing for candles for some time now. don’t make fun of me, but when pier 1 first opened along with illuminations {was that the name of the shop that used to be at ala moana shopping center?}, well…i bought a lot of candles. a lot. anyway, at the last renegade fair here i bought a bunch of candles from type.lites. i gave some as gifts and, of course, bought one for myself. i ended up with the bartlett pear scent and it is delicious…

it smells so freakin’ good! i have it burning now and in the morning my apartment will smell like pear. yum! when i want calm and peace, i light a candle. sometimes i’ll shower in the dark and just have a candle burning. or i’ll sit in the tub and soak while good music is playing and i realx via candlelight. good stuff.

this morning i woke up and i had a plan. and, well, things just didn’t go according to said plan. but it’s alright. i had a nice long walk home in the cold and dark {alright, that was not so nice} but i enjoyed the quiet. the calm felt great since it was pretty early and there were just a few people up and about. i did stop to get a quick photo of one of the cutest pet product shops i’ve ever seen {george. they have super cute toys!}…

yeah, yeah. great title. i know. i stumbled upon this on pinterest last night and thought i’d share because, well. just check it out and think about it…

that’s some wise shit right there. the reason i’m really digging this and taking it as a nice reminder and piece of advice is that i believe that 2013 will bring great things. i shared with you how i was ready for change and am really pushing myself to grow, create more, and discover the things i’ve been meaning to. i also am making an attempt to focus more on me. it may sound weird, but that’s a tough one. i tend to put others before myself despite what i may be feeling or going through. time to change. so go on, and blow your own damn mind!
